BRACING for more big battles in the PVL On Tour, Creamline is setting its sights on conditioning and continuous development as the two-month long pre-season meet is seen to be loaded with intense duels.

The fancied Cool Smashers began their bid this week with back-to-back wins when the league held games at the heritage-rich Vigan City in Ilocos Sur.

Creamline pummeled Akari 27-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18 last Monday night with veterans Alyssa Valdez and Michele Gumabao leading the squad.

“Siyempre, happy kami dahil kahit back-to-back iyong games namin, kasi first time na mangyari sa amin talaga na magkasunod na araw, siguro marami pa kaming i-improve para magtuloy-tuloy iyong magandang laro namin,” Cool Smashers coach Sherwin Meneses said after his belles rose to 2-0 in Pool B.

The champion mentor emphasized the importance of taking care of the players’ physical condition, acknowledging the rigorous schedule.

“Number one iyong conditioning namin. Dapat talaga mataas kasi medyo almost a month pa lang kami nagtra-training. Alam mo naman iyong labanan sa PVL, talagang nakakapagod. Iyon iyong number one na pagtutuunan namin ng pansin,” Meneses said.

Creamline will be back in action on July 1 when it faces Cignal at The Arena in San Juan.

“Training muna kami sa Manila ulit. Alam mo naman iyong Cignal, lagi namang nandiyan iyan kaya paghahandaan namin nang mabuti,” Meneses said.

The pro league will travel to Batangas this weekend with Pool A teams launching their respective campaigns.

Set to duke it out at the Batangas City Sports Center are the Choco Mucho Flying Titans who clash with the Galeries Tower Highrisers at 4 o’clock on Saturday to be followed by the Petro Gazz Angels and the Nxled Chameleons tiff at 6:30.
