JOHANN Chua and Jeffrey de Luna suffered losses in the round-of-32 yesterday (Monday in the US) and exited the Predator World 8-ball Championship at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan.
Chua, who was relegated to the loser’s bracket in the previous round, took a 4-10 beating from Bosnia’s Sanjin Pehlivanovic, the reigning European 10-ball champion, while De Luna dropped a 7-10 decision to former US Open 9-ball champ Jayson Shaw of Scotland.
Compatriot Carlo Biado went out earlier, losing a 7-8 heartbreaker to current World 10-ball titlist Wojcieh Szewczyk of Poland. — Bong Pedralvez
