BIANCA Pagdanganan had an uneven round yesterday (Saturday in the US), struggling with a 72 and slumping into a seven-way tie of 46th place with one round left in the US Women’s Open at the Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
After a good start with birdie on hole No. 1, Pagdanganan unraveled with three bogeys over a four-hole stretch for a 2-over 37 on the front nine of the par-71, 6,546-yard course staging the premier professional women’s golf tournament for the fourth time.
The Tokyo Olympics veteran fared slightly better on her return trip with two birdies, the last on the 18th, against a bogey on the 16th for a three-round total of 217, 17 shots behind red-hot pacesetting Australian Minjin Lee.
