BIANCA Pagdanganan failed to sustain her early hot start yesterday (Saturday in the US), shooting a 70 to end up in 12-way deadlock for 41st at the close of the LPGA Drive On Championship at the Crown Colony Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida.
After going three-under through the first 12 holes with birdies on hole Nos. 2, 4 and 12, Pagdanganan fell to bogeys on Nos. 13 and 15 on the way to finishing with a 54-hole tally of 211 over the par-72, 6,526-yard layout.
In her first tournament of the 2022 season, the 2019 Southeast Asian Games double gold medalist, who had earlier rounds of 70-71, received $6,162 (roughly P315,000). She finished 13 shots behind Leona Maguire, who fired a bogey-free 67-198 in becoming the first Irishwoman to win on the US LPGA tour.
Maguire scored a three-shot victory over American Lexi Thompson, who had 65-201, and bagged the top prize of $225,000 (P11.5 million).
