ASIDE from the core of reigning PBA Philippine Cup champion TNT, NorthPort star guard Robert Bolick has given the national team training pool for the first window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers a big shot in the arm.

The 6-foot-1 Bolick showed up in the Nationals’ practice last Saturday at the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center in Katipunan.

Coach Chot Reyes posted on social media a video showing Bolick practicing with the pool.

Bolick, who signed a contract extension with the Mikee Romero-owned Batang Pier also last Saturday, suited up for Gilas in the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China where he was good for 8.6 points on 47-percent shooting in five matches.

The third pick overall in the pro league draft in 2018, Bolick’s arrival in the pool could not come at a better time.

Fondly called “Tropang Gilas,” the pool has been hit with injuries to RR Pogoy (calf) and JP Erram (back).

Bolick is the pacesetter in the import-less tourney that resumed last Friday in points (20.5) and assists (9.3).
