JENNYLYN Mercado is back on TV with the series “Live. Die. Repeat,” which she is taping with former Kapamilya Xian Lim. Now, she will also be back on the big screen in “All About My Wife,” paired with two more Kapamilya actors, Sam Milby and Gerald Anderson, both Fil-Ams.
Jennylyn has made several successful romcoms before, like“English Only, Please,” where she was also paired with another former Kapamilya actor, Derek Ramsay. It was a big hit in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in 2014 and for her hilarious performance in the film, she won the best actress award.
“All About My Wife” is a Tagalog adaptation of a South Korean blockbuster hit with the same title shown in 2012. In turn, it was based on an Argentine movie titled “Un Novio Para Mi Mujer,” a big hit in 2008 and was also adapted by other foreign countries.
In the story, Jennylyn and Sam will play husband and wife. Sam is already bored with Jen for having a nagging wife with a depressive personality and is forever complaining. He then hires a legendary playboy, played by Gerald, to seduce Jen, to make it appear that she is the one who is unfaithful to their marriage.

‘I won’t just quickly jump into a new relationship lalo na ngayong I’m so busy – Yassi Pressman’

Yassi Pressman broke up with non-showbiz Canada-based businessman boyfriend John Semira and soon after that, she was quickly linked to other guys, such as Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos and Camarines Governor Sur Luigi Villafuerte.
“But they are just good friends of mine,” she says. “Lalo si Luigi na halos ten years ko na yatang kakilala.
“Kabe-break lang namin ni Jon, it was a mutual decision, and I won’t just quickly jump into a new relationship lalo na ngayong I’m so busy. I have ‘Kurdapya’ with TV5, I’m now busy promoting our new movie ni Ruru Madrid, ‘Video City,’ and I’m also taping for our new series on GMA, ‘Black Rider.’ So sa work muna po tayo mag-concentrate.”
She is elated to be given the chance to work with old friend Ruru Madrid both on the big and the small screen.
“I’m optimistic viewers will watch our movie, ‘Video City,’ kasi it provides a nostalgic look into the ‘90s. You’d remember the times when life was much simpler, walang smart phones, walang social media, walang bashers na galit sa mundo. Sa story, nag-rewind ang buhay at panahon for Ruru as Han in 2023 at napabalik siya sa 1990s due to a mysterious rewinder of VHF tapes.”
So how is it working again with Ruru?
“Masaya. We first got to work together sa GMA exactly ten years ago at ibang-iba pa kami noon, teenagers pa lang kami. Working with him now, I can feel his love for his craft kaya naman napakagaling niyang artista. He’s a real gentleman. And very caring siya.”

Chloe Jenna is one of Viva’s resident sexpots who has played supporting roles in movies like “Eva,” “Do You Think I’m Sexy,” “Boso Dos” and “Night Bird.” She is now doing her solo launching flick, “Ligaw na Bulaklak,” directed by Jeffrey Hidalgo.
But before that is shown, she first gives a totally unabashed performance in “Patikim-tikim” as the ultra liberated girlfriend of lead actor Aerol Carmelo. The rambunctiously funny opening scene shows her wantonly making love with Aerol, refusing to listen to his pleas and cries to stop working on him as he has already ran out of energy.
“I’m playing a character so different from me in real life,” she says. “She’s loud and crazy, oversexed. But I enjoyed playing the character and I want to thank Direk Joey Reyes for giving me the role of April who is so uninhibited. Kakaiba ang treatment kasi comedy ang dating.”
Is she playing a similar character in her launching movie? “No, I play a totally different role in my solo film, ‘Ligaw na Bulaklak,’ directed by Jeffrey Hidalgo. Tahimik naman ako roon as Diane, mahinhin at mysterious. Leading man ko si Arron Villaflor. It’s due for streaming on September 22 naman, so abangan nyo.”
