The People’s Television (PTV) unveils an array of new shows in the coming weeks. This September, viewers can anticipate a revitalized morning lineup and enhanced news and public affairs offerings.
Veteran broadcaster Erwin Tulfo brings his signature hard-hitting style to PTV with “Punto Asintado Reload” every 10 a.m. from Monday to Friday. This program will be followed by the multi-agency public forum “Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon,” hosted by Nina Corpuz and featuring a rotating cast of government spokespersons and officials.
In alignment with the government’s communication agenda, PTV will also air a PBBM program block on weekdays at 5:30 a.m. This half-hour block includes “On the Ground,” a series of short documentaries by acclaimed filmmaker Paul Soriano, and “BBM Vlogs,” offering insights into President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s daily responsibilities as chief executive.
While news and public affairs programming remain at the heart of PTV4’s offerings, there will be a host of fresh and revamped programs, starting with “On Assignment” with Maan Macapagal, “Stories from the Grid” with Charms Espina, “Global Roundup” with Monique Tuzon and hourly multilingual newsbreaks: “PTV News Now,” “PTV Balita Ngayon,” and “PTV Balita Ngayon sa Probinsya.”
Weekend programming will also have a strong focus on news, featuring the new shows “Sentro Balita Weekend” and “Ulat Bayan Weekend” airing during the same timeslots as their weekday counterparts. “Sentro Balita Weekend” will be presented by PTV senior reporters Daniel Manalastas, Kenneth Paciente, Allan Francisco, and Mela Lesmoras, while broadcaster Dominic Almelor will anchor “Ulat Bayan Weekend.”
These exciting additions will join the morning commentary program “Mike Abe Live” at 9 a.m., as well as PTV’s regular weekday newscasts: “Sentro Balita” at 1 p.m., “Ulat Bayan” at 6 p.m., and “PTV News Tonight” at 9:30 p.m.
There are more shows in the pipeline, including “The Chatroom” with Malacañang Press briefer Daphne Oseña-Paez, the emergency response program “Code Red” with William Tio, and the travel documentary “Go Beyond Borders,” which will complement in-house programs such as “Ulat Bayan,” “Sentro Balita,” “PTV News Tonight,” “Iskoolmates,” and “Rise & Shine Pilipinas.”
“We’re excited to create more engaging content in the coming days; more watchable, dynamic programming that’s attuned to the viewing habits of today’s digitally-connected Filipinos,” said PTV general manager Analisa Puod.
