Bea Alonzo got a warm welcome from Alden Richards, while Bea Binene is excited to work with Viva stars.

BEA Alonzo felt so flattered when her leading man Alden Richards in “Start Up PH” showered her with so much praise during the show’s presscon-preview. “I’m really very thankful and yes, very, very flattered with what Alden said,” she says. “And I can say that I feel the same way about him, na siya ang parang naging welcoming committee ko sa GMA. We’ve worked together before in a commercial, so siyang nag-introduce sa akin sa mga kasama namin sa GMA. Close siya sa lahat ng mga tao, yung mga staff, pati sa mga artista.”
“Start-Up” is her first show as a Kapuso and she feels like she’s starting up again.
“It’s quite challenging kasi new work environment, but I am simply enjoying whatever it is life brings to me. At my age, I’m not longer in my teenage years na marami kang fears. Now, I just care more about what’s going to make me happy. I’m happy na ‘Start/Up PH’ ang first show ko with GMA kasi ang ganda talaga ng story about family relationships, pursuing your dreams and aspirations in life no matter what the odds. And I have to commend my co-stars kasi nakaka-inspire silang katrabaho and also our directors for orchestrating everything for us to come up with a really good show that we can all be proud of.”
“Start-Up PH” is now showing at 8:50 p.m., right after “Lolong” and just before “What We Could Be.”

Kim Chiu is thankful to ABS-CBN for allowing her to do the movie, “Always,” with Viva Films that reunites her with boyfriend Xian Lim and opens in theaters this Wednesday.
“Our last movie was 8 years ago pa and the ones we did before were all rom-coms kaya this is something new for us as it’s a romantic drama,” she says.
“Always” is based on a hit 2011 Korean film about a blind girl, Anna (Kim), and the guy who gives her eyesight back, Lino (Xian), by joining an underground streetfighting match. How did Kim tackle her role as Anna?
“I prepared myself as a blind girl by pretending to be blind kahit nasa bahay lang ako. Xian helped me a lot. He reminds me na bulag ako kasi kung minsan, I forget it.”
Kim says their fans have long been waiting for their reunion on the big screen. “So, this is like our gift for supporting us all these years. We’ve been paired for more than ten years kasi 2011 pa ‘yung ‘Binondo Girl’ where we first met. Mas mature na sila, just like us. Tumanda na rin kami from doing bubbly rom-coms to a more mature material like ‘Always’.”
Have they talked about getting married? “Yes, napag-uusapan naman namin but we don’t know yet when or where. If ever, we will let you know naman,” says Kim.

Bea Binene started as a child star at GMA with “Starstruck Kids.” As a teen star, she was given lead roles in “Alice Bungisngis” and “Hanggang Makita Kang Muli.” Last year, it was reported her contract as a Kapuso was not renewed.
Now, she has signed up with Viva Artists Agency or VAA. How does she feel about it? “Siempre, naninibago, kinakabahan kasi ngayon lang ako napalipat. It feels new, but I’m excited. I look forward to working with all of Viva’s stars.”
She wants to correct the impression that GMA didn’t renew her contract. “When the pandemic started, it was so scary. Wala pang vaccine, so nakakatakot lumabas as we don’t know what might happen. I just stayed with my family at home. I cannot do lock-in taping kasi iba ito sa nakasanayang tapings. So napag-usapan namin, since you’re scared to do taping, hindi na muna. But I will always be very thankful to GMA. I wouldn’t be here without them. Eighteen years ako sa kanila. I have plenty of friends with them all throughout my career, so forever silang magiging part of whoever I am now that I’m 24. But siempre, sa ngayon, we go doon sa kunsaan meron tayong trabaho.”
What kind of projects would she like to do with Viva? Is she ready to be part of the sexy flicks made by Vivamax? “One thing is for sure. Hindi ko pa po kayang magpa-sexy at this point. Kasi baka pumayag nga ako, tapos, hindi ko naman ma-deliver nang maayos if I’m not fully confident about it. Hindi rin naman ako kasing-sexy ng sexy stars nila. Viva also assured me na hindi naman lahat ng stars nila nagpapa-sexy so may projects pa rin na wholesome.”
