DAYS after implementing a major reshuffle, the Archdiocese of Manila yesterday directed the affected clergy to ensure smooth transition in their new assignments.
Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula yesterday said a seamless change in the leaderships of parishes and mission stations is important, and one ways to ensure it is through proper coordination between the incoming and outgoing pastors.
Advincula also said the appointees should properly coordinate their formal and canonical assumption to office to the Archdiocese of Manila.
“Kindly schedule your installation before me or our vicar general or the vicar forane of your vicariate within three months upon effectivity of your appointment,” he said.
Advincula also urged the appointees them to preserve the good name of the former pastor and “avoid giving negative comments about his past decisions before the parishioners,” and respect the security of tenure of employees, particularly parish personnel.
Advincula urged them to conduct an inventory of parish properties and cash count of all funds on hand and in banks.
Also, he said all canonical books should be organized and signed by the outgoing parish priest.
Last week, the Archdiocese of Manila implemented a major reshuffle of about 200 of its clergy. The reshuffle is the first major one under the leadership of Advincula, who was installed as Manila archbishop in June last year.
