THE driver of the sports utility vehicle that figured in a hit-and-run incident last June 6 in Mandaluyong City entered a not guilty plea when he was arraigned by a Mandaluyong court yesterday.
Jose Antonio Sanvicente is facing frustrated murder charges before the sala of Judge Aileen Saquing-Agacita of RTC branch 213.
The Mandaluyong police had filed frustrated murder charges against Sanvicente but the City Prosecutor’s Office downgraded this to frustrated homicide.
The next court hearing will be on October 4.
A video of the incident that went viral showed a white Toyota Rav4 (NCO-3781) driven by Sanvicente ramming and injuring security guard Christian Floralde, 31, who was directing traffic at the intersection of J. Vargas and Saint Francis Streets in Barangay Wack Wack.
Instead of stopping to help Floralde, the SUV sped away. — Christian Oineza
