THE Manila Cathedral is set to open exhibits for two former archbishops of Manila — Cardinal Jaime Sin, an icon of the 1986 “EDSA People Power Revolution,” and
Rufino Santos, the first Filipino to become a cardinal.

The Manila Cathedral announced the exhibits for Cardinal Jaime Sin and Cardinal Rufino Santos in a social media post.

On August 31, the Cathedral will celebrate Sin’s 95th birth anniversary.

“To honor his memories of Serviam (I will serve), the Manila Cathedral will be holding an exhibit of photos and memorabilia of the good cardinal,” said the Manila Cathedral.

Prior to the opening and blessing of the exhibit at the Blessed Souls Chapel, there will be a Holy Mass at 12:10 p.m. to be presided by Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos.

The blessing of the tomb of Cardinal Sin will follow the Eucharistic celebration.

Sin, who died June 21, 2005, served as Manila archbishop from March 19, 1974 to Sept. 15, 2003.

On September 3, the Manila Cathedral shall commemorate the 50th death anniversary of Santos who holds the distinction as the first Filipino to become a cardinal.

“We will open an exhibit featuring some of his personal belongings, liturgical, and extra liturgical paraphernalia turned over by the Santos Family to the Manila Cathedral,” said the Manila Cathedral.

Prior to the opening of the exhibit at the Nuestra Senora Del Pillar Chapel, there will be a 10 a.m. Mass to be presided by Manila auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Buhain.
