EMPLOYEES who will work today, Monday, will receive double their salaries as the country commemorates National Heroes Day.
In a statement, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said private sector employers must take note of the proper computation of workers’ wages on August 28, a regular holiday.
“The advisory prescribes that employees who rendered work during the regular holiday on August 28, National Heroes Day, are entitled to 200 percent of their wage for the first eight hours,” said DOLE.
“Employees who rendered overtime work shall be paid an additional 30 percent of their hourly rate,” it added.
Moreover, it stated that employees who work during the regular holiday that also falls on their rest day shall be paid an additional 30 percent of the basic wage of 200 percent.
For those who render overtime work that falls on their rest day, they shall be paid an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate.
Employees who don’t report for work shall be paid 100 percent of their wage.
Proclamation No. 90 – 2022 declared August 28 as a regular holiday nationwide for the commemoration of National Heroes Day.
