THREE New People’s Army (NPA) rebels reportedly planning to attack the Kaliwa Dam in Quezon were killed in a clash with government soldiers in General Nakar town in Quezon, the military reported.
Troops from the Army’s 1st Infantry Battalion and 22nd Division Reconnaissance Company conducted combat operations in Sitio Lagmak in Barangay Pagsangahan last Tuesday after receiving information about the presence of rebels in the area.
The Army’s 2nd Infantry Division said the rebels were reportedly planning to attack the Kaliwa Dam, according to the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division based in Tanay, Rizal.
During the operation, soldiers intercepted about 25 rebels believed to be members of the Kilusang Larangang Gerilya Narciso and Sub Sub-Regional Military Area 4-A under Janice Javier, alias Yayo.
