POLICE operatives arrested four suspected drug dealers and seized more than two kilos of suspected shabu worth P14.5 million in two separate operations in Cebu City last Tuesday.
Reports reaching the PNP headquarters at Camp Crame identified the suspects as Rulan Mercado, Reynaldo Ardina, Ryan Zanoria, and John Mark Cuizon.
Mercado, who the police said is a “high-value individual” in the war against drugs, Ardina, and Zanoria were nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bacayan. They yielded 1.05 kilo of shabu, worth P7.14 million.
Cuizon, also a “high-value” target, was arrested in a similar buy-bust operation in Barangay Suba. Seized from him was 1.09 kilo of shabu worth P7.41 million.
PNP and Bureau of Customs personnel seized P1.26 million worth of smuggled cigarettes off the coast of Manalipa Island in Zamboanga City also last Tuesday.
Three suspects manning the boat were arrested. They were Arjay Salim, Jabar Tingkahan and Asmad Tingkahan.
PNP chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said “tight cooperation among stakeholders” made possible the latest accomplishments in the fight against illegal drugs and smuggling.
