THE Far Eastern University (FEU) has cemented its standing as one of the country’s most consistent and credible institutions in healthcare education, with a measurable track record of producing board passers and national topnotchers across multiple licensure examinations.
In the March 2025 Medical Technologist Licensure Examination alone, FEU’s Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing (IHSN) produced three national topnotchers – Mary Licel Biscocho in eighth place, Jennellene Guy Racca in ninth place, and Aira May Usi in 10th place. First-time university takers scored an 86% passing rate, well above the national average of 80.26%.
The milestone is not isolated: In March and August 2024, FEU fielded a combined 845 successful MedTech examinees, while alumna Audrey Nicole Dumlao Tape topped the March 2022 boards with a rating of 90.20%, and Rocelle Anne Leonardo placed second nationwide in 2021.
The trend also applies in the field of nursing. In the November 2024 Nursing Licensure Exam, FEU recorded a near-perfect 99.82% passing rate and was named the second top-performing school among institutions with over 100 examinees. It also produced Top 10 passers in multiple years, including Maxine Rose Agas (Top 10, May 2025), Nathalie Ojero Rebucan (Top 8, May 2024), and Patricia Beatrice Dela Cena (Top 8, May 2023). These outcomes consistently outpace national averages, affirming FEU’s reputation as a dependable engine of healthcare talent.
To achieve all these, FEU integrates board preparation directly into its curriculum through structured review programs, rigorous clinical practice, and evidence-based instructional design. The IHSN likewise operates the Virtual Integrated Nursing Education Simulation (VINES) Laboratory, which features human patient simulators and high-fidelity equipment that mimic real clinical environments, and allows students to undergo extensive training through hospital and clinic affiliations across Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
