Miriam College (MC) is taking meaningful strides in promoting comprehensive health and cervical cancer prevention among its students, parents and employees through a milestone comprehensive vaccination drive, in partnership with The Medical City (TMC).
This is MC’s follow up on its commitments made last March during a landmark summit for private schools on HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) aptly entitled “Schools and Families Championing Health Through Immunization.”

“We know that knowledge must be matched with action. Apart from education, we are committed to the health of our students. Because we’re a girls’ school, HPV vaccination is especially important. This shows we’re serious about our mission,” said MC High School principal Sofia Soledad DG. De Guzman
The half-day event provided HPV, influenza, and pneumonia vaccines to around 300 recipients, including students, faculty, parents, household members, and senior citizens.
This marks MC’s first comprehensive community vaccination drive and TMC’s first time teaming up with a private school for such an effort.
“At The Medical City, we are committed to address the growing burden of non-communicable diseases through early detection and prevention,” said Dr. Christopher Napoleon Delos Reyes, group chief marketing and business development officer.
“We believe in the power of education to transform not just students, but entire communities. We know it takes a village to raise a child and a healthy village raises a healthy child,” said Kristine Marie S. Lesaca-Saludez, MC grade school principal.
