Coming off the success of the hard-hitting action series “Iron Heart”, Richard Gutierrez acknowledges the pressure of starring in another major action project, “Incognito”, which is set to premiere on Netflix in January.
Richard, a seasoned actor who began as a child star, said that pressure is inherent in the entertainment industry. “You are only as good as your last project,” he admitted.
“But this time around, I’m very thankful that I’m surrounded by a great group of artists, great group of creatives, and I think we’re gonna push the boundaries again with this one,” Richard shared. “We’re gonna elevate the action once again with this one and this time around, ensemble. You know, hindi lang ako’y may pressure, medyo napapasa ko sa kanya. Medyo na di-dissipate. We are working as a team. We enjoy that pressure and we have no choice but to shine with that pressure,” he added.
“Incognito” is a big-budget production shot in various locations, featuring a star-studded cast that includes Ian Veneracion, Kaila Estrada, Anthony Jennings, Maris Racal, Baron Geisler, and Daniel Padilla. Helmed by director Lester Pimentel Ong, known for his expertise in stunts and background as a competitive wushu athlete, the project promises to deliver elevated action sequences.
Meanwhile, Daniel Padilla is making his debut in the action genre and is eager to showcase the film to the action stars in his family. “I’m excited. Parang excited ako pakita sa erpat ko to, parang panis…,” he said.
Daniel also noted the distinct styles within his family, comparing himself to his father Rommel Padilla and uncle Robin Padilla. “Magkakaiba naman ang timpla namin, ano? I mean magaling si Tito Robin, mahusay syempre—‘di ba?—ang tatay ko, nandun din ang mga tito ko, pero iba-iba rin kami ng timpla. Tingnan natin kung ano naman ang mai-ooffer ko.”
