The highly anticipated teaser for Piolo Pascual’s horror movie “Mallari,” released by Mentorque Productions last Saturday night, really took everyone by surprise.
The teaser garnered views and shares at a rate similar to a taxi meter in just one hour. It also trended on Meta around 11 p.m. on Saturday, much to the delight of the film’s producer, Bryan Dy. He was thrilled to see that many people were eagerly awaiting the “Mallari” teaser, hoping it would be one of the final four slots in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023, which will be screened this December. It’s well-known that horror movies have a large fanbase.
The teaser was released a “sneak peek,” as Mentorque Productions plans to gradually reveal more information until October 17 for the final announcement.
As of this writing, the teaser has already received over 500 shares in 24 hours, and almost all the comments we’ve seen are congratulating the entire Team Mallari.
One netizen, Mam Vangie, said, “Congratulations right away! After watching that earlier today, I knew people will agree that this is another breakthrough in Philippine Movies. It looks very exciting!”
Producer Bryan praised JC Santos, saying, “I was impressed by JC. I know you’ve seen him play various characters in movies, but in ‘Mallari,’ you’ll see a different JC Santos, just like with Piolo Pascual.”
Mentorque’s bigwig hinted at many more stories but said he wouldn’t reveal everything yet, especially the behind-the-scenes details of the film’s lead actor, which were apparently quite unexpected.
In addition to Piolo and JC, the cast includes Janella Salvador, Elisse Joson, Ms. Gloria Diaz, with a special appearance by Mylene Dizon.
The film is directed by Derick Cabrido and written by Enrico C. Santos, produced by Mentorque Productions, and line-produced by CleverMinds, Inc.
Stay tuned for the second teaser coming soon.
