Isuzu Philippines Corp.(IPC) turned over P250,000 cash donation to National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in time for its World Kidney Day 2023 celebration on March 9 at the NKTI Atrium in Quezon City.

IPC started its donation series to medical institutions after the announcement of its Road to Progress vision during its 25th inaugural anniversary in 2022. IPC’s Road to Progress vision aims to align its business goals and commitment through a new perspective focusing on environment, social and governance aspect. In line with its social aspect, IPC provides support in sustaining good health and well-being of Filipinos as a way of giving back to the community. 

In 2023, IPC kicked off its donation series with NKTI.

ATFX thanksgiving dinner

ATFX recently hosted its annual dinner for partners worldwide in Bangkok, Thailand attended by more than 600 employees and business partners.  

In the Philippines, ATFX has partnered with SmarTrade to educate more Filipinos about the different opportunities in online trading. For the past five years, SmarTrade has been offering free learning sessions and one-on-one coaching on online trading.

This March, ATFX and SmarTrade are launching a new program for local traders, The BOSS: Business Opportunity Seminar and Successful Partner Program. This series of workshops and open-house events are geared towards engaging and educating more traders to level up their knowledge in trading as well as provide an opportunity for them to join ATFX’s expansive network of brokers.

InLife bags 2 Anvil Awards

Insular Life’s (InLife) women empowerment program and Insular Foundation’s tutorial program received Silver Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).  

The InLife Sheroes Advocacy and Movement was recognized as a Public Relations Program on a Sustained Basis — Advocacy Communication, while the Tutor Kita Program was recognized as a Specialized Public Relations Program – Advocacy Campaign. 

“ As we mark InLife Sheroes’ fourth anniversary, we are honored to receive this recognition from PRSP. This will further inspire us to reach out to more Filipino women,”  said InLife executive chairperson Nina Aguas.  

 InLife Sheroes has engaged millions of Filipinos through its programs and events on financial literacy, health and wellness, women-specific solutions, and connections to business, social networks.   The Tutor Kita Program, meanwhile, involved 32 InLife employees who volunteered in the online tutorial sessions for the Foundation’s scholars from Bayanan Elementary School in Muntinlupa. The tutorial program focused on raising students’ proficiency levels in English and Math where the learning gap is widest.

Water, energy events set

Water Philippines 2023, in its 6th edition, and PhilEnergy 2023, in its 3rd edition, are set for March 22 to 24 at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Both events are expected to welcome over 10,000 delegates and trade visitors from 40 professional profiles in all sectors of the water and energy industry. Giving a platform to over 300 exhibiting brands and companies from over 60 exhibitor profiles as they showcase the latest technologies and products within the four exhibiting halls for the exhibition and two function halls for the return of the conferences 

PhilEnergy 2023, rebranded from Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Philippines, has added sub-events: Electric and Power Philippines; Electric Vehicle Philippines; and Energy Storage Philippines. The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers who will mount a Technical Division Symposium. Several technical speakers will gather to lead discussions with the attendees.

The events will also facilitate free-to-attend seminars.

Manulife partners with WMC

Manulife has recently partnered with Wealth Management Center for Communications and Research, Inc. (WMC) to conduct a Certified Wealth Planner (CWP) course to provide professional certifications on wealth management and financial planning based on the industry’s highest international standards.

The course, starting in May, covers holistic and comprehensive programs in wealth creation, protection, and conservation, focusing on health and life insurance, investment, and estate planning. Manulife financial advisors will be equipped with practice-based knowledge of the global financial system, financial risk management, financial health and insurance planning, investment strategies, and macroeconomic and market cycles.

Rahul Hora, president and chief executive officer of Manulife Philippines, said the initiative helps empower the company’s  financial advisors to aspire for the globally recognized Million Dollar Round Table  qualification.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be designated with Certified Wealth Planner  and Certified Estate Planner Phils certifications, considered management and financial planning competence hallmarks by The Insurance Institute for Asia & Pacific.

CLIB supports fire prevention initiatives

For many years now, Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Brokerage Inc. (CLIB) has worked with the Bureau of Fire Protection in observance of Fire Prevention Month. 

These include information dissemination drives from both organizations, as well as community engagement in driving the importance of prevention and safety especially during summer months where incidents of fire tend to increase. 

Part of its community-engagement efforts is Cebuana Lhuillier’s constant presence and rapid response to Ka-Cebuanas whose communities fall victim to fire.

PLDT-Smart Foundation donation

Boxes of vitamins B and C turned over to support PNP and their health

PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), the social outreach arm of PLDT and Smart Communications Inc., recently turned over boxes of vitamins to the Philippine National Police (PNP). 

The initiative was made possible by PLDT’s long-time donor, PHAREX Health Corp., which provided 600 boxes of vitamin B complex and 100 boxes of vitamin C for the PNP Health Service. 

PSF and PHAREX also handed over vitamins to Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc. (AKFI) and Makati Medical Center Foundation (MMCF) to be distributed to frontliners and indigent communities nationwide. 

Apart from vitamins, PSF and the rest of Tulong Kapatid (TK) members, the MVP-led consortium of foundations, were also able to distribute aid in the form of food packs, drinking water, hygiene kits, and solar lamps as their response to disasters occurred last year.

Samsung tops global TV market

In 2022, Samsung sold a staggering 9.65 million units of QLED and Neo QLED TVs, bringing cumulative sales to 35 million units since its launch in 2017. Samsung also dominated the ultra-large TV market segment in 2022, reporting a 36.1 percent and 42.9 percent market share for TVs over 75-inches and 80-inches respectively. For the premium TV market priced over $2,500, Samsung retained the largest market share by revenue at 48.6 percent.

IFEX trade show set in May

IFEX Philippines is set to hold its 16th edition at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay from May 26 to 28.          

IFEX Philippines is expected to bring together more than 500 exhibitors who will showcase a wide and diverse range of products including beverages, fine food and specialties, fruits and vegetables, biscuits and confectioneries, snacks and crispy savory food products, meat and poultry, dairy products, cereals, grains and starch, seafood and marine products, organic and natural products, raw materials and food ingredients, and equipment and services.

This year’s IFEX Philippines has the highest regional food small and medium enterprises representation.
