The Villar Group is eyeing to put up a casino in the 3,500- hectare Villar City in Daang Sari, Cavite.

This would be the second casino of the group after the 80-hectare Global South in Paranaque and Las Pinas, the construction of which is ongoing.

Former Senator Manny Villar said his group has partnered with a Korean group to run the casino in Global South, which he said is due to start operation by late this year or the first quarter of next year.

Villar earlier said the development will feature hotels, condominiums, a mall, and a theme park, apart from the casino and will require investments of about $1 billion.

The project will be developed by Villar’s Prime Asset Ventures Inc. (PAVI) – the private investment company headed by Villar’s son Manuel Paolo Villar–through wholly-owned subsidiary Vertex Entertainment and Resort Corp.
