Lexus is now the number one brand in the luxury market with a share of 40 percent, displacing traditional market leaders.
Lexus is also leading the charge towards electrification with 60 percent of its sales accounted for by hybrid electric variants and its first-ever battery electric model, the RZ.
This is higher compared to just 35 percent in 2022, Vince Socco, chairman of Lexus Manila, said this is a clear indication of the popularity and acceptance of hybrids as an immediate solution to carbon neutral – yet fun-to-drive mobility.
Socco said sales of Lexus in the first half of the year rose 122 percent to 897 units, accounting for 40 percent of total luxury brands of 2,228 units as reported by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc.
“The popularity of Lexus is a testament to the class-leading brand experience that is offers – from our wide and complete line-up of luxury vehicles, the finest purchasing ownership experience that we provide our Lexus guests,” Socco said.
Socco said Lexus is leading the way to sustainable mobility with the widest range of electrified luxury models.
At present, six out of 9 of Lexus’ main models all come with hybrid electric drivetrains, he said.
Last May, the company introduced its first ever full battery electric model, the RZ 450e.
