DFNN Inc. said its unit InPlay has attracted bets worth P6 billion in the first nine months of the year as social distancing restrictions limit outside activities for individuals.
InPlay is DFNN’s remote gaming platform under direct unit Inter-Active Entertainment Solutions Technologies Inc. (IEST), that offers an extension of the company’s current on-site games in the privacy of an individual’s home. InPlay received Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. license in December last year, a month after it was launched in November.
“Online gaming is one pursuit that undoubtedly flourished as a form of entertainment and InPlay.ph has definitely captured a respectable share of this market since launching in November 2020,” it said.
For the third quarter alone, gross bets reached P1.43 billion, up 64.56 percent from the second quarter bets of P869 million.
“Third quarter gross gaming revenue (GGR) posted an increase of 60.84 percent at P64.3 million compared to the previous quarter’s GGR of P40 million. Consolidated GGR for the three quarters now amount to a total of P269.3 million,” DFNN said.
DFNN said InPlay.ph’s performance is set to surpass that of the traditional gaming outlets which has suffered due to the lockdowns imposed because of the pandemic.
“However, as lockdown measures ease and more gaming outlets re-open, it is projected that revenue from these outlets will start to improve,” it also said.
DFNN shares closed at P3.27, down P0.10 from Monday.
