LT Group Inc. grew its profit in the first half of the year by 313 percent to P15.4 billion from P3.73 billion last year.
Revenues rose 3.67 percent to P45.76 billion from P44.14 billion last year.
The tobacco business accounted for P7.74 billion or 50 percent of total attributable income.
Philippine National Bank (PNB) contributed P6.28 billion or 41 percent.
Tanduay Distillers Inc. added P561 million or 4 percent of total, while Asia Brewery Inc. accounted for P294 million or 2 percent. Eton Properties Philippines Inc. contributed P257 million or 2 percent. The 30.9 percent stake in Victorias Milling Company Inc. added P186 million or 1 percent of total.
