CEBU Pacific (CEB) reported almost double-digit growth in passenger volume in the Japan market in the first quarter of 2024 from a year ago, driven by its continued offering of competitive fares.

CEB, which operates six routes in Japan, said in a statement it has flown close to 110,000 passengers in the first quarter of 2024 which is 20 percent higher than the pre-pandemic level and almost double of last year.

Japan has become a top-of-mind destination for Filipino travelers. It is also one of CEB’s popular routes, having flown over 200,000 passengers in 2024 so far.

The company continues its commitment to provide the lowest prices in the market and making travel easy and accessible for passengers.

“For Narita, our current lowest one-way base fare is at P1,888, exclusive of fees and surcharges,” said CEB, which currently flies to various cities in Japan from Manila, Cebu and Clark

The airline started its Japan operations with the launch of Manila to Osaka in 2008, followed by Manila to Tokyo and Nagoya in 2014, Manila to Fukuoka and Cebu to Tokyo in 2015, and from Clark to Tokyo in August 2019.

Filipinos visit Japan for its blend of cultural appreciation and modernity — catering to all types of Filipino travelers.

CEB currently flies to 35 domestic and 25 international destinations spread across Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

In the first quarter, the airline generated P25.3 billion in revenue, up 21 percent from the previous year, driven by the continued increase in passenger volume.

CEB flew over 5.5 million passengers, a 14 percent increase from the same period last year.
