Globe Telecom Inc. has emerged as the country’s favorite telco brand based on a recent study conducted by international market research firm The Method Research.
According to the October survey, nearly 4 out of 10 Filipinos nationwide preferred Globe. About 39 percent of the respondents picked the digital solutions provider, three points higher than the 36 percent registered in August 2021.
Globe led over Smart, whose score dropped to 17.3 percent from 22.5 percent. Other providers posted the following ratings: PLDT, 15 percent; TNT, 13.5 percent; TM, 9.8 percent, and ; DITO, 5.3 percent.
Globe was also the preferred telco in Luzon with 42 percent; Visayas, 34 percent and; Mindanao, 39 percent.
The study aims to gather general insights into the local population’s behavior, consumption, and preferences. The sample of respondents taken per island is also representative of the nation’s population.
A majority of the respondents or 78 percent belong to the 18-24 age bracket. About 72 percent are female, and 28 percent are male. Most of them are from Luzon – 53 percent, followed by Visayas — 30 percent and Mindanao — 18 percent.
