Cebu Pacific (CEB) flew more passengers at Clark International Airport at over 1 million in 2024, higher by 36 percent from almost 300,000 passengers recorded in 2023.
Its average monthly seats also grew by 102 percent to 161,000 in December 2024 from 79,000 in January of the same year. The average number of flights almost doubled from 441 in January to 872 in December of 2024.
The airline attributed the growth to its continued route expansion to make travel more accessible to travelers from the Central and Northern Luzon areas, such as Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Isabela and La Union.
“We are delighted by the strong growth we achieved in 2024, which highlights the growing demand for accessible air travel among our passengers from Central and Northern Luzon. Cebu Pacific remains steadfast in its commitment to offering affordable and convenient flights, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Candice Iyog, CEB chief marketing and customer experience officer, in a statement yesterday.
The airline expects its number of seats to increase this year.
“We expect Manila to grow by 14 percent, while Cebu hub will grow by 67 percent, Clark by 102 percent, Davao 81 percent and Iloilo by 67 percent,” Iyog said referring to the airline seats.
The airline currently services 11 domestic and international routes out of Clark.
