Spectrum, Manila Electric Co.’s (Meralco) solar power development firm, eyes to double its current 20 megawatts (MW) capacity to 40 MW within the year.
“We will be entering a lot of residential solar, a lot of small ones but there will also be big projects coming soon but mostly (we see) residential and small businesses since they are already adapting,’’ said Victor Genuino, Spectrum president and Meralco first vice president and head of customer retail services and corporate communications.
Genuino said projects are going to be located nationwide as Spectrum’s business can operate even outside Meralco’s franchise area.
Genuino said the company currently has over 150 contracts with a total capacity close to 20 MW for their current portfolio from utility scale, commercial rooftops and even residential developments.
