Ambassador Endo Kazuya paid a courtesy call to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) secretary Alfredo Pascual on April 24, where they discussed the current economic partnership between Japan and the Philippines.
Kazuya commended the administration’s efforts to attract more foreign investments, noting their positive impact on Japanese businesses in the Philippines. He expressed eagerness to further deepen the strategic and economic partnership between the two nations, aiming for concrete outcomes following the recent Japan-USA-Philippines Trilateral Summit Meeting and Commerce and Industry Ministerial meeting. Additionally, he reaffirmed Japan’s commitment as the top trading partner and investor in the Philippines.
Pascual, in turn, assured that foreign businesses would receive fair treatment in the Philippines through the creation of a level-playing field and increased market access opportunities.
The meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening ties and enhancing economic cooperation between Japan and the Philippines.
Both Kazuya and Pascual reiterated their mutual commitment to fostering a prosperous partnership for the benefit of both economies and their people.
