The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), brought together all the 17 regions of the Philippines, including the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and presented some of the finest delicacies from around the country, popular tourist destinations, unique festivities and a lot more at this year’s Philippine Travel Mart (PTM).

In line with the DOT’s thrust of further growing domestic travel, the TPB’s culturally diverse booth featured displays and activities from around the country. The highlights included traditional artisans from the Bagobo Tagabawa Tribe, weavers from Maragondon, Cavite, and the woven fabrics made by the Iranun-Maguindanaon group.

Cultural performances like the celebratory dance of the Blaan and T’bolitribes from SOCCSKSARGEN, presentations by the Sinanduloy Cultural Troupe of Tangub City, cooking demonstrations of Bicol’s beloved laing by Chefs Jet Sumayao and Rica Buenaflor also provided TPB booth visitors a glimpse and taste of the unique flavors of each region.

Organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), the 30th year of PTM offered travelers a chance to book and buy the best deals for holiday packages directly from hotels, airlines, and tour operators.

Following the theme, “Fostering Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism”, the event promoted sustainable products and initiatives including agri-tourism products from Benguet and Capiz, handicrafts made by the Camiguingnon women, and Henry and Sons’ sustainable coffee which, among many others, aims to connect local coffee farmers to more buyers and provide educational assistance to their children.

The TPB, along with all the regional offices of DOT, continues its unyielding promotion of sustainable tourism–supporting local culture, cuisine and tourism sites.
