Raffles Makati’s The Writers Bar launched its latest offering – Sanso Afternoon Tea, inspired by the brilliance of visual arts.
In partnership with Modern and Contemporary Art Festival or MoCAF 2023 and Fundacion Sanso, The Writers Bar’s new afternoon tea is highlighting one of the most distinguished living painters, a recipient of Presidential Medal of Merit given by Republic of the Philippines, none other than the great Juvenal Sanso.
“Art is very close to the heart of Raffles Makati as it houses over 1,600 art pieces by local artists with select masterpieces being highlighted through an Art Tour, available to interested hotel guests, and is conducted by the Hotel Curator and Head of Butler Service, Mr. Julio Lapuz,” Raffles and Fairmont Makati’s Hotel Manager, Aubrey Ada, said.
Eugene Tamesis, Raffles and Fairmont Makati’s Director of Sales and Marketing, presented one of the highlights of the program which was the engaging interactive painting activity participated in by selected attendees of the launch.
Guided by guest painter from Baguio, Art Lozano, the audience was amazed as they watch the Sanso homage artwork being completed. Lozano was part of a recent group show held at Galerie Joaquin entitled Tribute to Sanso, and is also one of the commissioned artists and contributors to Raffles Makati’s extensive art collection.
Creatively concocted by the hotel’s Culinary Team lead by Executive Chef, Bela Rieck, the visually delectable and tasteful Sanso Afternoon Tea set showcases sweet and savory canapés presented in three tiers, which were inspired by the art of Juvenal Sanso.
These delicious treats include- Tortilla squares with spiced chorizo, Filipino fresh Lumpia with peanut sauce, Mango Tartlets, Turron de chocolate, and TresLechesCake to name a few.
