IT IS a very exciting time for Lanson Place Hospitality Management Limited as it is approximately six months away from opening its Lanson Place Mall of Asia.
A seasoned hospitality operator with a collection of hotels and serviced residences in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, and soon in Melbourne, Lanson Place has built “a home in Manila.”
Set to welcome guests to their new home in the second quarter of 2023, Lanson Place Mall of Asia houses a grand total of 247 hotel rooms and 143 residential units, offering a myriad of livable personal spaces in varying sizes.
Each room has a smart card security system, in-room technology such as infrared motion and ultrasonic sensors, Nespresso coffee and tea makers, high-speed broadband internet connection, a 50-inch flatscreen Smart TV, and an electronic safe.
The window of travel is now opening up, and Michael Hobson, chief executive officer of Lanson Place, feels good about this destination. “The domestic market of the Philippines is very strong and the staycation/leisure market is better.”
Because of this, Hobson said they are “going to be able to position ourselves very nicely to cater to both business and leisure, particularly with the hybrid product that we have.”
“We will also have a very good balance between extended stay and transient business.”
“We see a largely domestic market here in the future as we open up, but not solely domestic as we anticipate our customers to come from the major departure points of Southeast Asia — Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc,” Hobson said.
The new property has amenities and facilities, such as Resident’s Lounge, an all-day retreat exclusively for long-stay guests where a buffet continental breakfast is served every day; Infinity Pool, an outdoor infinity pool on the 11th floor with an unrivalled sweeping view of Manila Bay, a perfect respite amidst the hustle and bustle of the city; Fitness Center, which is also located at the 11th floor is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art fitness level; Mandara Spa, which provides a luxuriously relaxing experience on the Mezzanine level; and In-Room Dining, where guests can simply dial in and enjoy delectable dishes at their comfort.
“We have our tagline which is ‘Make yourself at home’. It is a very deep-rooted philosophy that we have,” he explained. “If I invite you to my home, I don’t just wait for you at the front door, I’ll probably go down and meet you from wherever you are coming from,” he said.
“I will also escort you to my door; make sure that you are comfortable and you have everything you need. I would have check with you whether you have any dietary restrictions; make sure that what I am about to give you is really is going to please you; try to understand you as well as I can; we will dine together; I will entertain you in my home; and then I will not just point to the front door but I will escort you on the journey back as well, so to speak,” he related.
This philosophy is very powerful as the brand really welcomes guests from the very beginning of their journey and when they are looking to book, to the time that they depart and they actually reach their home.
“They hopefully think of us in that other city.”
The brand also maintains this relationship with their clients all the way through, and to tries to find out as much about them as they can, in order to be able to deliver that service.
The location perfectly complements guests’ lifestyle options and convenience. Situated within the Mall of Asia complex, they will be steps away from malls, including SM Mall of Asia, restaurants, offices, entertainment and function spaces, such as MOA Arena and SMX Convention Center Manila, as well as a transportation hub that can take them to and from any part of Metro Manila. All of these against the backdrop of the vast landscape of Manila Bay.
Lanson Place Mall of Asia is ideal not only for leisure guests but also for business travelers and MICE delegates.
“We are specialists in extended stays, so we understand what it is to have people with us for long periods of time. We build very strong relationships over those periods of time, get to know our people, and we therefore try to develop a community spirit amongst our properties,” Hobson pointed out.
In the new Lanson Place Mall of Asia, the latest in event spaces will give clients the perfect venue for their celebrations for social or, for business, their meetings and presentations.
Its stunning ballroom with its pre-function space and our seven meeting rooms are well-furnished and house all the modern amenities their event will need. With its professional team of dedicated hosts and organizers, clients can also expect ease and peace of mind when arranging their event.
“There will be a good demand for people who are working in this area that require accommodation; or they are working on projects or they are here for two, three, or six months, even a year more; and then the extended stays where people stay for 14 nights or more,” he added.
Hobson noted that people are now looking to reward themselves and reward their families for everything that they have been through because of the pandemic.
It also has food and beverage outlets like Cyan Modern Kitchen, the property’s all-day dining restaurant on the third floor. Cyan serves modern interpretations of traditional international favorites made with fresh, seasonal, and sustainably sourced ingredients. Feast on a well-curated buffet featuring Western, Mediterranean, Asian, Indian, and Filipino cuisine, as well as our seasonal a la carte menu.
An exclusive rooftop venue at the 11th floor for residents and in-house guests, Edge Pool Bar provides an unobstructed view of Manila Bay. Sip on signature cocktails and savor comforting dishes while enjoying captivating sunsets and cool breeze.
Positioned at the ground floor of the ballroom lobby, Madeleine provides tranquility for your weekend catch-ups with friends and family. Sip on premium tea and indulge in innovative pastries and cakes that evoke traditional and contemporary high tea while listening to the serene sound of instrumental music.
Located at the hotel lobby on the ground floor, BLK 12 Café and Bar is a cozy and trendy chill-out space that serves rich brewed coffee with guests’ favorite snacks and pastries during the day. In the evenings, it transforms into an upbeat, snazzy wine bar – the perfect place to unwind.
Located at the 3rd floor and within the well-appointed co-working space, Bytes offers conveniently healthful beverages, snacks, and sandwiches on the go or while being productive and inspired.
Laurent Boisdron, vice president and general manager of Lanson Place Mall of Asia, said they have a product to partner with mostly Filipino companies.
“We already started the ‘Filipino partnership’, specifically in terms of food and beverage.”
Under his strong leadership, Boisdron will assemble and lead the team to position this magnificent 390 key property in one of Manila’s most exciting business and entertainment hubs, and introduce the Lanson Place brand to the community.“
The location is one of the best features of the hotel. Also, Lanson Place is known for co-working space — a signature element of the brand. “We also want to include an element of food and beverage,” he said.
“The property has a very nice feature as well as a very high ceiling, lots of windows, and lots of daylight, which are really exciting,” Boisdron added.
