Hong Kong is the most popular destination for Filipino families looking to enjoy an international vacation together. Early 2023 search data from digital travel platform Agoda shows a strong preference toward cosmopolitan cities, with Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul trailing behind.

Perpetual summer destinations for outbound Pinoys like Bangkok and Bali also feature in the Top 10.

Hop destination cities also captured the attention of Pinoy families with Taipei and Kuala Lumpur becoming part of the top searched international destinations.

Meanwhile, Agoda data further showed that Filipinos are keen on exploring Japan: Nagoya is the third destination from the Land of the Rising Sun to feature in the Top 10.
On the home front, the nation’s capital’s dominance as a preferred domestic travel destination prevailed even post-lockdown.

Alongside staycation offerings to city-dwellers and regional neighbors alike, Manila also offers plenty of culture-rich destinations for the whole family, like the vibrant Intramuros and timeless Luneta.

The ranking of beach destinations such as Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, and La Union proves that for families, revenge travel is in and that Pinoys are allotting time for longer holidays.

Meanwhile, road trip destinations close to Manila still remain a go-to for quick getaways with the fam bam with Baguio, Batangas, Tagaytay, and Subic rounding out the top 10.
Agoda’s Family Travel Trend survey, which polled over 14,000 family travelers from 12 markets globally, found that visiting landmarks is the most popular activity on family trips. Spending time at the beach comes in at second, followed by enjoying a fun day at an amusement park.

“Families are taking advantage of the school breaks to spend quality time on trips together.  Among Filipino travelers, we are seeing great interest to spend time at the beach, or in cities where there are a lot of historical and cultural sites along with sumptuous cuisine,” said Enric Casals, Regional Vice-President Southeast Asia and Oceania at Agoda.

“Planning vacations with large groups across different age groups and budgets can be a challenge. Which is why at Agoda, we have done our best to make the booking journey as seamless as possible with accommodations, flight, and activities all at the click of a button.”
