Hilton Manila is the only 100 percent staycation hotel within the RWM following the DOT approval it obtained. It adheres to an array of stringent protocols, covering the DOH, Pasay City government as well as the global Hilton “CleanStay” program which was introduced last year.
Just like all businesses, it has also been tough for Hilton Manila, but it has weathered the storm quite well with the support of RWM.
The hotel initially started looking after departing foreigners, and then switched to caring for in-bound Filipino workers returning home. Late last year, it changed its accreditation to staycation to look after people who want to enjoy themselves.
When the hotel decided to transition from an isolation facility for returning Filipinos to a staycation hotel, it had to go through a very rigorous process to show to the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Health (DOH) that the rooms were all vacated and heavily sanitized before reopening to the staycation market.
