THE SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) announced in 2018 it will have another iconic edifice in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry and is set to rise in Clark.
The SMHCC team’s grit and resilience enabled them to stand the test of the COVID-19 pandemic and overcome the challenges it presented.
Fast forward to today, four years down the road, it is delivering its promise as it officially launched the SMX Convention Center in the heart of Pampanga.
In her message, Peggy Angeles, SMHCC executive vice president, said this new addition to SMHCC’s diversified portfolio of convention centers is “the second stand-alone convention center following SMX Manila.”
It comes after the launch of SMX Convention Center Olongapo last November 2020.
Angeles added SMHCC is delighted to showcase SMX Convention Center Clark as “one of the premier event venues and major players in Central Luzon’s booming MICE business.”
It perfectly complements Clark Freeport’s vision of becoming a MICE and tourist hub in the Asia-Pacific region by 2030, and reinforces SMHCC’s steadfast commitment in providing quality, variety, and flexibility in terms of venue spaces, without sacrificing safety.
With its 4,000 square-meter gross leasable space, three trade halls, three function rooms, and 14 smaller meeting rooms, “it is ready to host small, medium, and large-scale events while capitalizing on its strategic location,” she stressed.
“What you have seen today are just a few of the countless and creative ways of transforming these event spaces at SMX into slice of life representations that exude dynamism, rhythm, and energy,” Angeles noted.
The venue is conveniently adjacent to Park Inn by Radisson Clark and within the thriving SM City Clark Complex.
SMX Clark offers free Wi-Fi, furnished with concierge counters and LFD television monitors for event announcements.
Its three purpose-built halls have a total floor area of 1,466 square meters, accommodating a wide range of diverse requirements, from multi-level booths to heavy machinery displays.
Anywhere from 450 to 1,000 guests may be seated in the three second-floor function rooms, which can be combined into a floor area of up to 1,664 square meters for corporate affairs, graduation ceremonies, product launches, and large-scale social events. It is fully-carpeted and outfitted with LED lights to add a touch of prestige to any gathering.
Meeting rooms can host just a few select delegates or, when combined and customized to preferences, up to 700 attendees, perfect for small-scale corporate and social functions, company board meetings, training seminars, and also as break-out rooms for plenary sessions in the convention center’s larger spaces.
