AirAsia Philippines said it has flown 6.6 million passengers and is on track to achieve its eight million passengers target this year, driven by an influx of provincial homecoming and increasing demand for leisure travel.
As of mid-November, AirAsia Philippines has booked 89 percent of its total seat sales for 2023, with bookings up by 6 percent compared to the same period last year.
The airline already exceeded last year’s passenger volume, saying it has achieved 79 percent of the eight-million passenger target for 2024.
“With the busiest holiday season just around the corner, we are optimistic in reaching our passenger goal for 2024. This time of year, is extra special for Filipinos, as many are eager to reconnect with loved ones. We’re already seeing strong demand across both our domestic and international routes. We encourage our guests to look out for exciting holiday promotions, as we remain committed to delivering an exceptional travel experience that makes AirAsia the airline of choice,” Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines head of Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer, said in a statement.
