The roar of V10 engines is about to echo through the Korean mountains as Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia rolls into its penultimate Asian round this weekend at the 3.908 km Inje Speedium. From July 18–20, a grid stacked with Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2s will battle tight corners and sweeping straights—four of them campaigned by local outfits and featuring three homegrown stars.

Local lions take the grid

Racegraph, backed by Lamborghini Bundang, leads the Korean charge with three entries:

  • PRO Class
  • Lee Jungwoo (KOR) & Peter Li Zhicong (CHN)

Reunited since a Shanghai victory, this duo sits third in the standings on the strength of one win and three podiums. Expect them to tackle Inje’s elevation changes with confidence.

  • Lamborghini Cup
  • Gerald Eng Peng Goh (MAS) & Kim Sangho (KOR)

Goh, third in the Cup standings, teams up with local talent Kim Sangho for a tilt at the top step. Their mix of race craft and home-track knowledge could spring a surprise.

  • Wildcard PRO Entry
  • Yugo Tanabe (JPN)

The Fuji podium finisher brings Japanese precision to Inje, ready to learn the circuit and challenge the front runners.

Meanwhile, reigning AM champion and crowd favourite Brian Lee Changwoo partners with Liang Jiatong (CHN) in SQDA-GRIT Motorsport’s PRO-AM entry. Second in PRO-AM, Lee’s home-turf expertise could tip the scales against international competition.

Championship battles heating up

All four titles—PRO, PRO-AM, AM, and Lamborghini Cup—remain tantalizingly open as the series hurtles toward November’s World Finals in Misano. Here’s how the PRO standings shape up:

1.         Charles Leong Hon Chio / Alex Denning (SJM Theodore Racing)

Commanding the leaderboard with four wins and two additional podiums, the duo holds a 24-point margin.

2. Ethan Brown (SGP) / Nikolas Pirttilahti (FIN)

Newcomer Brown makes his Korean debut with Pirttilahti, aiming to build on last round’s podium in Japan.

3.         Jonathan Cecotto (MCO) / Gavin Huang (TPE)

The BC Racing pair have been podium regulars without a win—expect them to turn that frustration into fighting spirit.

4.         Emilien Carde (FRA) / Alex Sawer (GBR-VNM)

DW Evans GT throws a curveball with 17-year-old Sawer, the F4 Southeast Asia leader, joining seasoned Carde for his Super Trofeo debut.

The ultimate test

Nestled in Gangwon Province, Inje Speedium’s 10 turns blend high-speed straights with technical sections. Elevation changes demand precision throttle control, while off-camber corners punish even the slightest miscalculation. Tire management will be critical under the hot Korean sun, and local knowledge could be the difference-maker.

With six rounds left before Misano, every point counts. Riders and teams will use Inje to fine-tune setups, trial bold strategies, and build championship momentum. For Korean fans, it’s a weekend to cheer on local heroes charging up the leaderboard—and savor the visceral thrill of Lamborghini thunder in their backyard.
