BEATING the existing record by over 200 vehicles is no mean feat for the members and organizers of the world record breaking attempt for the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Car Horn Ensemble.”
In a remarkable display of automotive enthusiasm and unity, the Subic Bay Freeport became the epicenter of a record-breaking achievement as over a thousand Ford Everest sports utility vehicles (SUVs) congregated at the Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) to establish a new Guinness World Record, beating the prior record-holder, the MINI Club of Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, which assembled 800 vehicles and achieved the feat in August 2013.
This extraordinary feat was orchestrated by the Ford Everest Club Philippines (FECP), a distinguished mid-size SUV club boasting an impressive roster of 15,000 active members. Regarded as one of the most prominent and dynamically engaged car clubs in the nation, FECP successfully brought together a grand total of 1,077 SUVs, pooling their efforts for the audacious endeavor.

Amidst an air of excitement and camaraderie, the Certificate of Award was officially presented to FECP by the adjudicator from the Guinness World Records, in the presence of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman and administrator, Jonathan D. Tan. Speaking at the awarding ceremony held on the SBIA tarmac, Tan expressed his delight in being a part of the historic occasion, emphasizing how FECP not only orchestrated an astonishing symphony of car horns but also infused the event with a distinct sense of thrill and novelty.
The scale of this achievement extended beyond the assembly of vehicles; a considerable crowd of approximately 5,000 club members, along with their families, event organizers, sponsors, and curious onlookers, contributed to the lively atmosphere. The event saw a surge in visitor arrivals before, during, and after the record-setting attempt, reflecting the community’s enthusiasm and the event’s resonance.
Tan elaborated on the event’s timeline, detailing that the record-breaking endeavor commenced at the New Clark City Aquatics Center.
Here, a synchronized chorus of 1,077 Ford Everest SUVs resounded with their horns tuned to the melody of “Philippine Jeepney/Let’s Go” for an impressive duration of one minute and six seconds. Subsequently, the fleet of vehicles embarked on a journey to the Subic Bay Freeport, where FECP was officially conferred the Guinness World Records certificate by the organization’s Official Adjudicator.
The remarkable achievement by FECP now stands as a testament to the power of unity, automotive passion, and the spirit of setting new horizons in record-breaking endeavors.
