Autocar Philippines managing editor Earl Manalansan passed away early today from complications related to COVID-19. He was 52.

Also the associate editor at RideStyleph Magazine, Earl is an avid motorcyclist and lover of American muscle cars. He admits to being a “late bloomer” in the motoring beat and started a website Streettalkph with some partners.

Known as “Mang Datory,” a moniker given to him by the Malaya Business Insight’s “The Good Drive” columnist Ron de los Reyes, because of his relentless “mandatory” selfies and groufies with colleagues during motoring events.
A graduate of Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas, he finished his secondary education at the Lourdes School of Quezon City. He is survived by his wife Sasa and children Josh, Sam and Pio.
