This year, over 2,000 Teleperformance Philippines employees joined Pride Marches nationwide. Marching alongside hundreds of other organizations, TP’s participation in what was hailed as the “largest Pride March in the Philippines” in Quezon City was a powerful statement of solidarity and support. Similar marches took place in Cebu and Davao, reflecting TP’s nationwide commitment to inclusivity.
“This is more than just a month of celebration. Teleperformance Philippines is always committed to its DE&I initiatives,” said Teleperformance Philippines Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly. “Our yearly participation is a bold declaration that everyone at TP is free to be their most authentic selves. We’re greatly proud to stand with our LGBTQIA+ employees.”
Supporting and Empowering LGBTQIA+ Employees
Teleperformance Philippines’ commitment to fostering a safe space for employees nationwide is reflected in the results of the Great Place to Work® survey for the 2023 recertification of the organization.
Teleperformance Philippines has consistently scored high in statements like “this is a physically safe place to work,” “people here are treated regardless of gender,” and “people here are treated fairly regardless of their sexual orientation.”
Additionally, gender identity groups with the highest trust index (TI) rating for the organization include trans women, trans men, and non-binary employees from different sites nationwide.
“We want our LGBTQIA+ employees to feel not just accepted, but celebrated,” shared Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson. “Creating a safe and inclusive space for all our employees is a continuous journey.”
Programs and initiatives, like the TP Pride Town Hall and the Virtual Kwentuhan: Queerversations sessions, were also held throughout the year, offering a platform for discussions on various issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community.
TP’s inclusive HMO policy also grants health benefits to Teleperformance Philippines’ employees and their partners regardless of marital status, sexual orientation, and background. Moreover, TP also offers confidential HIV screenings in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Project Red Ribbon Care Management Foundation, reinforcing TP’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive environment.
A Great Place to Work
Teleperformance was recently named one of the Philippines’ Best Workplaces by Great Place to Work®, solidifying Teleperformance’s continuous streak since 2018.
“At TP, we believe that everyone should feel that they belong, no matter who they are or who they love,” said Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly. “Our journey towards inclusivity is ongoing, and we are excited to continue making strides together.”
TP’s commitment to diversity is not only celebrated during Pride Month. In addition to its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, TP Philippines also formalized a groundbreaking partnership earlier this year with the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (DLS-CSB SDEAS) to advance deaf inclusion.
The initiative involves training Deaf interns and providing them with the necessary tools to empower them in their workforce integration.
Early this year, the organization proved its commitment to gender equality by endorsing the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact. At TP Women’s Leadership Summit, TP Philippines’ senior leadership publicly signed a commitment to these principles.
As Teleperformance Philippines looks to the future, its dedication to creating a culture of acceptance and empowerment remains steadfast. From celebrating Pride Month to pioneering initiatives for deaf inclusion and gender equality, the organization is committed to ensuring every employee feels seen and heard.
