NHMFC receives “unmodified opinion” from COA

The National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) received an “unmodified opinion” from the Commission on Audit (COA) for the years ended December 31, 2024 and 2023.

An unmodified opinion is issued when the COA concludes that the financial statements of the corporation are prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with the applicable financial reporting standards.

NHMFC President Renato L. Tobias stated that this underscores the corporation’s adherence to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s commitment to improving efficiency, accountability, and transparency in public fiscal management.

“This opinion from COA is a strong testament to the corporation’s diligent stewardship of public funds and reinforces its credibility as a trusted government financial institution,”  Pres. Tobias remarked.

“All the hard work and efforts of the entire NHMFC organization to ensure sound financial management yielded positive results, and we remain committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity as we continue to serve our community with excellence,” he further stressed.

Under the leadership of President Tobias, NHMFC has been working diligently to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and attain an unmodified opinion from the COA, which was last obtained over a decade ago.

NHMFC is one of the government’s Key Shelter Agencies attached to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), headed by Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling.  The agency has remained steadfast in its mission to advance housing finance solutions that promote sustainable homeownership for Filipino families and contribute to the administration’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program.
