Nestlé is investing PHP 18.1 billion in the Philippines from 2019 to 2027 to enhance nutrition and address sustainability challenges. This significant investment aims to improve the health and wellness of Filipinos while supporting sustainable living initiatives.
“In the Philippines, Nestlé is a ‘Kasambuhay’—a trusted companion—of Filipino families, providing nutritious and high-quality products and implementing various initiatives to support sustainable living,” said Laurent Freixe, Nestlé’s global CEO, during his recent visit to the country. “Our investments enable us to continue to help build happier, healthier lives for Filipinos.”
Remy Ejel, CEO of Nestlé Zone Asia, Oceania, and Africa, emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment: “Nestlé has served Filipinos for 114 years, and we are committed to continuing to contribute to the country’s growth and development. The Philippines is one of Nestlé’s biggest markets worldwide, and we strongly believe in its potential.”
The investment focuses on several key areas:
New Production Technologies: Nestlé prioritizes implementing advanced technologies that enhance safety and manufacturing efficiency while increasing the output of high-quality products that meet rising nutritional demands.
Operational Continuity: This initiative ensures optimal production by training personnel, promoting gender equality in management and on the shop floor, developing local talent, and enhancing labor relations. It also includes embedding digital capabilities for real-time production data to minimize errors and waste.

Product Innovation: Leveraging its scientific expertise, Nestlé renovates existing products and develops new ones that effectively address Filipino nutritional needs. In 2024 alone, the company provided 26 billion fortified food servings to combat common micronutrient deficiencies. The Nestlé Wellness Campus (NWC), established in collaboration with the Department of Education in 2012, teaches sound nutrition and health habits to millions of students from grades one to ten.
Environmental Sustainability: Nestlé is committed to reducing its carbon footprint as part of its goal to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The company has transitioned fully from fossil fuels to renewable electricity and is investing significantly in climate change mitigation efforts in partnership with public and private sectors.
Nestlé Philippines collaborates with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources on programs aimed at building a circular economy for plastic. The company supports the extended producer responsibility (EPR) law for plastic waste management. Notably, two years prior to the EPR law’s enactment, Nestlé voluntarily collected plastic equivalent to its packaging usage, diverting an average of 1.7 million kilos of plastic waste monthly.
Support for Coffee Farmers: As the largest coffee manufacturer in the country, Nestlé invests substantially through its NESCAFÉ Plan to help smallholder coffee farmers sustainably increase their yields and incomes. This program promotes regenerative agriculture practices that enhance resilience against climate change while boosting local coffee production.
Kais Marzouki, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé Philippines, stated: “Our strategy and priorities for our investments combine our goals of achieving business growth with creating shared value for all stakeholders. We strive to address urgent social, economic, and environmental challenges where we can make a meaningful impact. Our long-term success depends on it.”
