Thai firm introduces fiber cement innovations
The first and lone manufacturer of fiber cement materials in the country, Thai firm SHERA Public Company Ltd., aims to contribute to the continuous growth of environmentally conscious construction projects in the Philippines.
SHERA said it positions itself as a total building solution provider for the fiber cement needs in the Philippines while addressing the bottlenecks in the local construction industry.
Ahead of opening its first local plant in March 2025, SHERA is bringing more of its fiber cement products to the Philippines to boost its portfolio as part of its goal to further increase its market share.

SHERA currently has the biggest capacity in terms of fiber cement products in the country with more than 40 percent share in the market.
“This 2025, we look forward to further increasing our local market share from 40 percent and we believe that introducing our new fiber cement products to the Philippines will realize this vision,” said Thunnop Jumpasri, SHERA Philippines country head. “We look forward to becoming leaders in the fiber cement sector by showing Filipinos that with our products, it is possible to build homes with durable, reliable, sustainable, and aesthetic materials.”
According to the company, SHERA’s fiber cement innovation is an eco-friendly alternative to many conventional building materials due to its longevity, durability, and low environmental impact during production.
This comes at a time when green building adoption in the Philippines continues to grow sincreased driven by the demand for more sustainable spaces and as mandated by the government.
To align with global sustainability trends, developers are utilizing eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient designs to comply with regulatory standards and cater to consumer preferences.
SHERA said the company uses advanced tech to fortify its fiber cement products, creating construction materials suitable for Filipino homeowners and entrepreneurs.
FYBERTEC Technology used to develop the SHERA Board Pro is the latest addition to its roster of products available in the market.
FYBERTEC innovation blends fiber firmly together lessening pores and air gaps. With this technology, fibers become stronger resulting in a strengthened framework.
SHERA Said this innovation the board’s toughness, flexibility, and smoothness, ensuring easier installation and reducing paint costs by up to 20 percent. In turn, the SHERA Board Pro becomes extremely resistant to the elements, including unpredictable weather, water, fire, and termites – which are variables that continue to be a persistent concern for the Filipino community.
Apart from the SHERA Board Pro, the company also introduced the SHERA Gypsum Standard Board, a lightweight and easy-to-install board for ceiling and drywall applications; the SHERA Gypsum Moisture Resistant Board, which boasts a water absorption rate of <10 percent, making it perfect for kitchens and bathrooms; and the Stone Plastic Composite (SPC) Flooring Interior Floor, a versatile material for flooring.

The facility in Mabalacat, Pampanga is projected to deliver up to 200,000 tons of fiber cement per year. The facility, which features AI and IoT-powered production processes, will decrease import dependency and export to Taiwan, South Korea, some parts of North Asia, and Oceania countries.
