MyTown, the co-living brand owned by Philippines Urban Living Solutions (PULS) with SM Investments Corp. as majority shareholder, received the international Co-living Award in the category “Impact & Sustainability.”
MyTown was the only Philippine representative during the Co-living Awards and, together with Episode (Korea) and Hmlet (Singapore) one of the only winners from the Asian continent.
The awards ceremony was held in Paris, France last May 14.
MyTown was also a finalist in the “Community & User Experience” category.
The first international Co-living Awards was the highlight of the Co-liv Summit, which attracted more than 500 companies related to co-living from around the world.
As the co-living industry is shaping up and becoming a solid specialist asset class, the Co-living Awards focus on defining co-living as an institutionalized, scalable and thriving real estate model.
The Co-living Awards help winners not only gain well-deserved recognition, but also to contribute to the growth and development of co-living, a niche real estate asset class that has the potential to truly transform the future of living.
“We aim to give visibility to the brightest minds and inspire the next generation of real estate market players by identifying disruptive solutions and state-of-the-art concepts,” said the Co-living Awards organization.
According to the Co-living Awards jury, “for the co-living sector to evolve and mature, co-living players must embed impact and sustainability into the core of what they do. MyTown is doing just that. MyTown is a project that is leading the way for the co-living sector in the Philippines, and aiming to have a positive impact along the way.”
Lead judge Matt Lesniak said MyTown’s “buildings and operations are designed with environmental sustainability and climate resilience in mind” referring to MyTown’s use of solar panels, recycled water systems, ‘typhoon-proof’ structures, and buildings purposely developed in flood-free areas.
“Overall MyTown has clearly presented how it has a positive social, economic and environmental impact on its residents, surrounding neighborhoods and at a wider city level,” Lesniak said.
“We are honored to have successfully represented the Philippines as a place where real estate innovation can sprout and thrive. In an age where impact and sustainability are increasingly important, we’re excited to be a blueprint for co-living players around the world and a positive force to young professionals, the real estate asset class, and the environment,” said Jelmer David Ikink, group director at PULS, owner of the MyTown brand.
MyTown is the largest and most prominent co-living brand in the Philippines with 18 modern and luxurious co-living properties located all within five minutes walking distance from Bonifacio Global City and Makati CBD.
It was awarded Best Co-Living Space in 2019 by Lamudi and Best Impact & Sustainability Co-living Operator at the 2021 international Co-living Awards.
