Holcim Philippines Inc. hailed the government’s efforts to strengthen domestic industries by prioritizing high-quality, locally-produced materials in state projects highlighted by the recent passage of the Tatak Pinoy Act.
Signed by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on February 26, the Tatak Pinoy Act or Republic Act 11981 aims to spur innovation among Philippine industries to be more competitive in the local and global markets.
Principally authored and sponsored by Sen. Sonny Angara, Tatak Pinoy includes a provision that gives priority and preference for Philippine-made products in government procurement for 10 years.

Holcim Philippines has consistently demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact while growing its business. In 2023, the company launched new blended cements with lower environmental footprint while delivering excellent building performance.
Holcim Philippines accelerated digitalization across operations for greater resource efficiency highlighted by a 12 percent reduction in freshwater withdrawals. It also reused more than a million tons of wastes as alternative fuels and raw materials to help partners avoid landfilling and lower consumption of virgin resources.
Holcim Philippines’ sites were recognized nationwide by host local governments for supporting state programs through taxes with its plant in Bacnotan, La Union awarded by the province on February 29 as a top taxpayer.
In January, the company opened the Holcim Innovation Hub in its Davao plant allowing Filipinos to virtually access the range of cutting-edge building solutions being developed at the research and development center of the Holcim Group in Lyon, France. It also launched the Holcim Concrete Quality League, which seeks to strengthen collaboration and knowledge-sharing on concrete among the country’s top builders.
