Ayala Land Inc. said it plans to have an electric vehicle (EV) charging station network in each of the company’s estates nationwide to support the growing adoption to EVs.

Ayala Land said in a statement on Tuesday that Makati City where the company’s flagship projects are located, is the first city to integrate a network of EV charging stations.

Cristopher Maglanoc, Ayala Land senior vice president, said Makati is taking a significant step toward accelerating the adoption of clean energy transportation.

He said Ayala Land is looking to have 100 EV charging stations in its Makati estates by the end of the year.

The company, together with sister company AC Mobility, on Tuesday unveiled the 70th charging station in Makati — at the carpark of the Corinthian Plaza in Legaspi Village, Makati.

“With a total of 70 charge points and 16 locations strategically located across key commercial, business, and residential areas, Makati will not only house the most extensive EV charging network in the country but will also be home to the first-ever super-fast chargers in the Philippines,” the company said in the statement.

The EV charging stations are housed at prime locations within the estate, including business hubs, retail centers, and key thoroughfares, ensuring accessibility and convenience, Ayala Land said.

Carla Buencamino, AC Mobility head of mobility infrastructure, said the expansion will bring the total charging station locations to 22 in Makati.

These are be located in Makati’s most frequented areas, including One Ayala, Greenbelt, Glorietta, Tower One, and key carparks including Valero, Dela Rosa and Corinthian.

Ten of the new additions will be placed in car parks around Legazpi Village, Buencamino said.

Makati currently comprises 30 percent of the company’s total charging stations.

AC Mobility eyes to have 700 charging stations nationwide for the year.

AC Mobility holds the exclusive distribution rights for BYD in the Philippines.
