Several online review programs are now open to the public in preparation for the upcoming Architecture Licensure Exam (ALE) early next year.
Scheduled every Saturday and Sunday beginning July 22, the pilot program includes courses on Architectural Core and Architectural Design, as well as an Architecture Licensure Exam Refresher and an Architecture Licensure Exam Simulation. It will be facilitated by a roster of seasoned academicians, professionals, and practitioners from the Architecture Program of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Environment and Design (SED).
Conducted under the School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE), the classes will use hybrid learning media and inclusive, creative, and heuristic teaching strategies.
The Architectural Core Review Course is an in-depth and experiential study of the 13 major subjects in the discipline: History of Architecture, Theory of Architecture, Urban Design, Environmental Planning, Building Materials, Building Construction Technology, Sanitary System, Electrical System, Mechanical System, Acoustic System, Architecture Engineering Sciences, Professional Regulatory Laws and Architectural Practice.
The course runs for a total of 148 hours.
An exclusive analysis of building type standards and regulations, the Architectural Design Review Course is a comprehensive overview of Building Laws; Ekistics; Site Planning; Climate Design; Educational, Cultural, and Institutional Architecture; Government, Civic, and Healthcare Architecture; Mixed-Use Architecture; and Sports, Hospitality, and Transportation Architecture.
The program adds up to 72 hours.
The Architecture Licensure Exam Refresher provides students with a concise review of their previous subjects, which will be present at the ALE. It likewise helps them assess their learning capacity and trains them in answering the test with a set of strategies.
The program covers the History and Theory of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Professional Practice, Building Construction Technology, Building Utility Systems, Architecture Structure Systems and Architectural Design.
The refresher is for a total of 56 hours. The two-day Architecture Licensure Exam Simulation will be facilitated by two proctors.
The first phase includes the History of Architecture, Theory of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design and Professional Practice, while the second batch covers Building Construction Technology, Building Utility Systems, Architectural Engineering Sciences and Architectural Design.
