VINFAST Auto recently announced the launch of its VF 5 electric SUV in the Philippines, positioning it as one of the most affordable compact EV in the market due to its unique battery subscription model.
The VF 5 is priced at P1.191M with the battery included. However, VinFast also offers a battery
subscription program that significantly reduces the upfront cost of the vehicle to P992K.
This model allows customers to pay a monthly fee based on their driving distance, with a starting price of P5,800 for up to 1,500 km per month.
“We are delighted to officially enter the Philippines, one of Southeast Asia’s most promising electric vehicle markets. By launching the VF 5 and introducing our unique battery subscription program to local consumers, we reaffirm our commitment to providing high-quality, affordable products with excellent after-sales services,” Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc, CEO of VinFast Philippines enthusiastically expressed.
This battery subscription model makes the VF 5 an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers who want to switch to electric mobility without the burden of a large upfront investment. Additionally, VinFast’s battery subscription program includes free maintenance and battery replacement if the maximum capacity falls below 70 percent, providing peace of mind for customers concerned about battery longevity.
VinFast’s battery subscription program not only reduces the initial purchase cost, making the VF 5 more accessible to a wider range of consumers, but also includes free maintenance and battery replacement if the maximum capacity falls below 70 percent.
In Vietnam, this program has made the VinFast line of electric cars immensely popular. The comprehensive approach addresses concerns about battery longevity and maintenance costs.
In terms of specifications, the VF 5 is a compact SUV equipped with a 100-kW motor, 135 Nm of torque, and front-wheel drive. It has a range of 326 km on a single charge and can charge from 10% to 70% in just 33 minutes.
The VF 5 also comes with various advanced technologies, including automatic vehicle fault diagnosis, intrusion monitoring and alert, remote software updates, and basic cruise control.
VinFast’s entry into the Philippine market with the VF 5 and its battery subscription model could significantly impact the country’s EV landscape. By offering an affordable and accessible electric vehicle option, VinFast may encourage more Filipino consumers to adopt electric mobility, contributing to a greener and more sustainable transportation system.
The VInFast Auto Philippines head further emphasized the company’s vision, stating, “We hope that VinFast electric cars will soon become the daily mode of transportation for everyone, contributing to the green transportation movement in the Philippines.”
