Vietnamese carmaker officially begins operations in 5 countries
VINFAST, the Vietnamese carmaker is charging its way into North America and Europe setting up branches to start entrenching itself in these EV-oriented markets. The company officially announced this move in a statement to the media yesterday, July 12.
“The fact that European and North American governments having announced roadmaps to ban internal combustion engine cars and switch to electric vehicles is a perfect opportunity for VinFast to conquer the global market,” Thai Thi Thanh Hai, CEO of VinFast Global declared.
VinFast Commercial and Services Trading LLC is starting to set up branches in the US, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands, considered key markets in VinFast’s business expansion plans since its early days. For the past year, VinFast has promptly set up the needed backrooms for business operations in these countries. In its preparation for its launch in those markets, VinFast created teams in each location to assure strong market penetration and pre-launch successes as it moves closer towards the goal of becoming a global smart electric car company.
This includes manpower expertise and technical partnership, in which VinFast recruited automotive and business experts from leading car makers like Tesla, BMW, Porsche, Toyota, Nissan, etc. Together, they have developed the organization, expanded partner networks, and prepared for market entry for VinFast.
Regarding business strategy, VinFast has designed relevant plans based on each market’s features. In Europe, VinFast will particularly focus on France, Germany and the Netherlands before moving onto other countries. VinFast’s car models will be appropriately designed for customer needs and operating conditions in each country.
“With smart electric cars backed by VinFast’s proven research and production capabilities, we are confident that VinFast can be a competitive contender with leading brands in the US today,” said Jeremy Snyder, Chief Growth Officer of VinFast US. Synder held several senior managing positions in Tesla for more than 10 years before jumping over to VinFast.

According to its plan, VinFast will officially launch its two smart electric car models VF e35 and VF e36 globally in March 2022. These are breakthrough electric SUVs with impressive exterior designs and top-of-the-range conveniences, meeting the highest safety standards set by NHTSA and EURO NCAP. Notably, VF e35 and VF e36 will feature ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems) and Smart Services (top-notch infotainment) developed by VinFast and its partners.
“We are confident that VinFast will be positively welcomed around the world thanks to high quality, a flexible and innovative sales policy, and high-class after-sales services typical of the (warmth and hospitality) Oriental style,” Thai Thi said.
Along with market diversification, VinFast has also boosted its international cooperation to upgrade quality and status. Currently, VinFast’s strategic partners are all big names in the fields of technology and automotive industry such as Pininfarina, ZF, Durr, Bosch, ABB, Faurecia, Dassault, Google, etc.
VinFast officially announced the VinFast EV Day 2021 that will be held in October this year to introduce its complete list of electric cars in all segments. VinFast has pioneered the battery rental policy with attractive monthly subscription fees and many practical benefits, thus giving customers peace of mind while using its products.
Additionally, VinFast’s electric cars will be offered with a global warranty scheme and after-sales service packages that are deemed to be the best in each market that VinFast participates in. VinFast aims to provide global consumers with high-class product lines backed by advanced technology and meet daily travel demands at reasonable costs.
Earlier this year, VinFast’s first electric car model VF e34 set a record in the Vietnamese market with more than 25 thousand pre-orders being placed shortly after its launch.
