A COLLABORATION between multiple companies is bringing the BYD Atto 3 electric crossover to the Philippine rental and leasing market.
BPI Tokyo Century Rental Corporation (BPITCRC) has acquired a BYD Atto 3 from BYD Cars Philippines, allowing consumers to rent or lease the popular EV through Diamond Rent-a-Car, a BPITCRC subsidiary and one of the country’s top car rental companies.
This venture marks BYD’s entry into the Philippine EV leasing market and supports both BYD and BPITCRC’s commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives. The companies plan to further explore programs that align with their sustainability goals.
“We believe the experience of driving a BYD electric vehicle is essential to building a knowledge-driven market.” He adds, “…the more people are aware of the virtues and rewards of sustainable mobility through electric vehicles… the easier it will be for us to progress towards an all-electric mobility future,” Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility, said also saying he believes this initiative will help raise awareness about EVs.
Meanwhile, Satoshi Matsuo, president and CEO of BPI Tokyo Century Rental Corporation, sees this partnership as a significant advancement for the car rental industry. He highlights the opportunity to accelerate the adoption of EVs, stating, “Once you drive BYD EV, you will be fascinated by the comfortable experience.
