THE inaugural Auto Parts & Vehicles Expo Philippines (APVE), held from June 5-7 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, attracted over 4,000 prospective buyers and sellers from across the country and Southeast Asia. The event featured hundreds of regional and international exhibitors showcasing the latest products and solutions in the evolving auto parts sector.
The expo, organized by Informa Markets, aimed to be a “game-changing platform” for industry leaders, buyers, sellers, and government representatives to “unlock emerging and potential growth opportunities in the auto parts sector,” according to Rungphech ‘Rose’ Chitanuwat, General Manager in the Philippines of Informa Markets.
The event was particularly timely given the record-breaking 21.9 percent growth in automotive sales in the Philippines in 2023, with a total of 429,807 units sold. This surge in sales has logically spurred growth in the automotive parts and car care sectors, creating a promising market for local and international suppliers.
The APVE also highlighted the growing electric vehicle (EV) sector in the country, fueled by Republic Act 11697 or the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA).
The three-day event featured a series of conferences and seminars. Day one focused on investment opportunities and the state of the Philippine Electric Vehicle Industry, while day two delved into strategic alliances and featured a Bumper to Bumper Car Show. The final day focused on seminars for haulers and truckers, discussions on automotive trends, and the culmination of the Bumper to Bumper Car Show.
